ADR 1000 points calculator
The ADR 1000 points calculator adds up the points of a load (quantity times the entry multiplier) and compares the total with the limit in ADR 1.1.3.6. Enter UN numbers and quantities, and the result shows whether the load is within the limit.
Frequently asked questions
What does “ADR up to 1000 points” mean?
The 1000-point limit from ADR 1.1.3.6: when the point total does not exceed it, carriage benefits from an exemption from part of the ADR requirements. Once it is exceeded, the full requirements apply.
How are ADR points calculated?
The transport category (0 to 4) sets the multiplier: according to ADR Check, category 1: multiplier 50, category 2: multiplier 3, category 3: multiplier 1, category 4: multiplier 0 (no limit), and category 0 means the exemption does not apply. Points are the net quantity (kg or L) times the multiplier.
What if the total exceeds 1000 points?
Once the limit is exceeded, the full ADR requirements apply. The calculator shows the total, the limit and the entries it is made of.
Where does the calculator get UN numbers and multipliers?
The result is calculated from ADR Check data. When a multiplier or category is missing from the data, the calculator does not give a certain result but says what is missing.
Does the 1000-point limit exempt from SENT?
No. The limit concerns an exemption from part of the ADR requirements. SENT is the Polish system for monitoring the road transport of goods (Act on the system for monitoring road and rail transport of goods and trade in heating fuels). SENT and ADR are separate obligations: SENT concerns the notification of the transport of goods from the catalogue (threshold, direction, procedure), ADR concerns the transport of dangerous goods. A SENT notification does not replace the ADR requirements, and the other way round.
Data: ADR Check (adr.exportsy.pl). Basis: European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). For guidance only, it does not replace the text of the Agreement or the assessment of a dangerous goods safety adviser (DGSA).
