- Hazard identification number (Kemler)The first digit is the main hazard (2 gas, 3 flammable liquid, 4 flammable solid, 5 oxidising, 6 toxic, 8 corrosive, 9 miscellaneous), the next digits are additional hazards, a repeated digit (e.g. 33) means an intensified hazard, an X before the number means a dangerous reaction with water.

- D/E: Code with a slash: the restriction depends on the way of carriage (in a tank or otherwise). See table 8.6.4 of ADR. Tunnel categories in the code: D, E.
- Transport categoryThe transport category (0 to 4) sets the multiplier: according to ADR Check, category 1: multiplier 50, category 2: multiplier 3, category 3: multiplier 1, category 4: multiplier 0 (no limit), and category 0 means the exemption does not apply. Points are the net quantity (kg or L) times the multiplier.
