Warning labels
2.3, 2.1
Hazard identification number (Kemler)The first digit is the main hazard (2 gas, 3 flammable liquid, 4 flammable solid, 5 oxidising, 6 toxic, 8 corrosive, 9 miscellaneous), the next digits are additional hazards, a repeated digit (e.g. 33) means an intensified hazard, an X before the number means a dangerous reaction with water.
263
Tunnel restriction code
B/D: Code with a slash: the restriction depends on the way of carriage (in a tank or otherwise). See table 8.6.4 of ADR. Tunnel categories in the code: B, D.
Transport categoryThe transport category (0 to 4) sets the multiplier: according to ADR Check, category 1: multiplier 50, category 2: multiplier 3, category 3: multiplier 1, category 4: multiplier 0 (no limit), and category 0 means the exemption does not apply. Points are the net quantity (kg or L) times the multiplier.
1
Multiplier for the 1000-point limitPoints are the net quantity (kg or L) times the multiplier; a load total not exceeding 1000 points falls within the ADR 1.1.3.6 exemption.
50
Limited quantity (LQ)The largest quantity per inner packaging for which carriage can use the limited-quantity rules.
0
Excepted quantity (EQ)A code indicating the limits for excepted quantities; its content is given in the text of ADR.
E0
Packing instructionsPacking instruction codes (e.g. P, IBC, R) indicate which packagings are permitted.
P200
Mixed packingCodes (MP) say how this substance may be packed together with others in one outer packaging.
MP9
Loading, unloading and handlingThe codes indicate provisions on carriage, loading and unloading.
CV9, CV10, CV36
Operation of the vehicleCodes (e.g. S2, S20) indicate additional operating provisions for carriage.

Special provisions

  • 342: Glass inner receptacles (such as ampoules or capsules) intended only for use in sterilization devices, when containing less than 30 ml of ethylene oxide per inner packaging with not more than 300 ml per outer packaging, may be carried in accordance with the provisions in Chapter 3.5, irrespective of the indication of…

"E0" in column (7b) of Table A of Chapter 3.2 provided that: (a) After filling, each glass inner receptacle has been determined to be leak-tight by placing the glass inner receptacle in a hot water bath at a temperature, and for a period of time, sufficient to ensure that an internal pressure equal to the vapour pressure of ethylene oxide at 55 °C is achieved. Any glass inner receptacle showing evidence of leakage, distortion or other defect under this test shall not be carried under the terms of this special provision; (b) In addition to the packaging required by 3.5.2, each glass inner receptacle is placed in a sealed plastics bag compatible with ethylene oxide and capable of containing the contents in the event of breakage or leakage of the glass inner receptacle; and (c) Each glass inner receptacle is protected by a means of preventing puncture of the plastics bag (e.g. sleeves or cushioning) in the event of damage to the packaging (e.g. by crushing).
