ADR: dangerous goods in road transport
ADR is the European agreement on the international carriage of dangerous goods by road. Each dangerous substance has a four-digit UN number, which indicates its hazard class. The packing group, warning labels, hazard identification number (Kemler) and tunnel restriction code are given by the entry for that number in Table A. Some UN numbers have several entries, for example with different packing groups. The right entry then depends on the properties of the goods, e.g. as shown in the safety data sheet. Below: a UN number search, the list of classes and three tools: load compatibility, the 1000-point limit and limited quantities (LQ).

Transport of dangerous goods and SENT
SENT is the Polish system for monitoring the road transport of goods (Act on the system for monitoring road and rail transport of goods and trade in heating fuels), and RMPD is the register to which a foreign carrier reports certain transports in Poland (Article 28b of the Road Transport Act). SENT and ADR are separate obligations: SENT concerns the notification of the transport of goods from the catalogue (threshold, direction, procedure), ADR concerns the transport of dangerous goods. A SENT notification does not replace the ADR requirements, and the other way round.

Frequently asked questions
What is a UN number in ADR?
A dangerous good is identified by a four-digit UN number. It determines the hazard class, packing group, warning labels, hazard identification number (Kemler) and tunnel restriction code.
What classes does ADR have?
ADR classes and subclasses: 1 Explosive substances and articles; 2 Gases; 3 Flammable liquids; 4.1 Flammable solids; 4.2 Substances liable to spontaneous combustion; 4.3 Substances which emit flammable gases on contact with water; 5.1 Oxidising substances; 5.2 Organic peroxides; 6.1 Toxic substances; 6.2 Infectious substances; 7 Radioactive material; 8 Corrosive substances; 9 Miscellaneous dangerous substances and articles.
Which ADR tools are on this page?
Load compatibility: Check whether goods with the given UN numbers may be loaded together. We use the warning labels and the class 1 compatibility groups. 1000-point calculator: Total load points (quantity times the entry multiplier) against the 1000-point limit. Limited quantities (LQ): Whether the quantity per inner packaging is within the LQ limit for the UN number.
